In partnership with Swans Island Company, our newest throw is woven on vintage handlooms with yarn from our sheep. The sheep are shorn in Spring, and their lanolin-rich fleece is sent to Waldoboro, Maine, to be washed, and then sent to a spinnery in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, where it is spun into a soft, lofty yarn. When the spun yarn reaches the Swans Island Company studios, it is woven in its pure, undyed state or saturated in a bath of naturally derived madder root dye. Skilled weavers craft each throw before the finishing team gently washes, blocks, and hems each handwoven blanket. The throw is nestled in a signature linen box, perfect for gifting or safe-keeping. 50" x 70"
